Emerging From the Smoldering Wreckage of 2020
Remember last New Years’? What wide-eyed children we were.
2020 was supposed to be the year of perfect vision. Instead, it was the year we realized we need the highest-strength prescription glasses available.
Or some really strong third eye drops.
In all honesty, no one could have seen what was coming, a true surprise if ever there was one: a micro-organism brought the macro-organism (world) to its knees. Or, rather, its largely unskillful response to a micro-organism brought the macro-organism to its knees.
And we, the individuals comprising the macro-organism, got stuck with a raw deal.
As someone who was just starting a business, allow me to say it’s been a rough year. I already knew Sacredphrenia was going to test me in every way imaginable. Throw a global pandemic, economic meltdown, social unrest, medication withdrawal, and belief system upheaval on top of that and suddenly you’re looking at the Jacob Reid episode of Will It Blend?
I actually came out triumphant, as you can see from this real photo of me emerging from the smoldering wreckage of 2020.
But I had to slay a few sacred cows. Sacredphrenia itself is on the chopping block, believe it or not, mainly as a business title and micro niche. I’m leaning toward expanding into a slightly larger niche because I believe I can serve a wider range of people while remaining in the holistic mental health space.
Of course, I will continue to champion this cause. I will continue to promote the use of the word “sacredphrenia,” as I feel it’s a powerful way to transmute the stigma. I will also continue to develop the “Sacredphrenia theory of ‘schizophrenia,’” as I believe I have developed some key insights in this arena.
Thank you for the incredible support so many of you have shown me over the last year. This venture was bound to have many twists and turns. So far, I have been enjoying every minute of it. Definitely much more to come, so stay tuned.
Wishing you a bright new year. May 2021 contain more divine flow for all of us, and may our vision be more clear.
